Bauman College has most certainly changed my life! I spent my whole life feeling so driven and passionate, just not knowing for what. During my “life purpose” search several years ago, I had enrolled in a local, highly recognized national esthetic’s school. Right before I started I had a revolutionary moment; I realized that the underlying foundation of healthy, glowing skin has everything to do with what you put into your body. That’s when I began the search for a holistic nutrition school that matched my personal philosophy. When I began the Nutrition Educator program at Bauman College it became very clear to me that this was my life’s work and the school I wanted to connect with all along.

As a Distance Learning Nutrition Educator student, I greatly appreciated the input, advice and experience of my mentor. My relationship with her enhanced my personal experience with Bauman College. Putting together my final presentation was a natural result of the prior coursework, and it was especially nice that I could choose a topic that was relevant to me (pre-conception health).

The name of my business is Organic Healing. I started my private practice unintentionally with the clients used during the last few classes of the NE program. I have an amazing client who weighed well over three-hundred pounds when he started. He was my client for the weight management course and has stayed with me since. He’s had a complete turn-around. He’s proud of what he’s done to change his lifestyle and has even referred me to his mother and colleagues. When I hear him say “You have to tell my mom about the importance of eating locally, food that’s in season, and organically grown,” it’s mind-blowing! Now he’s become the one who wants to better those around him. THAT is what makes this nutrition work rewarding.

In addition to my private practice, I do contract work as the Seattle/NW rep with Sunfood Nutrition doing demos for many products. I also work at many local and NW health fairs representing different products and businesses in the natural and organic industry. Lastly, I’ve recently created an organic skin care line that I make in my kitchen and sell locally and on my website.

Bauman College gave me all the information I needed to get into this field and become an educator. The classes flowed from one to the next, building as I continued on. The program really gave me all the tools and education I needed to be effective and knowledgeable in this field. Bauman College is truly a holistic approach without favoring one way of eating, which translates to an accommodating nutritional program for everybody. I miss being in school at Bauman College and can’t wait to do the Nutrition Consultant program!
