![]() Kristin Doyle, Natural Chef Owner of Therapeutic Chef San Francisco, CA www.therapeuticchef.com “I am grateful to Bauman College for providing me with the education necessary to effectively use food as medicine.” I began my journey in the health care industry as a nurse because I wanted to help people. I left nursing to study nutrition and finally therapeutic cooking because I was surprised at how little emphasis there was on holistic nutrition in mainstream healthcare. After completing a Nutritional Consultant Program, I sought out a natural cooking program to learn how to use my knowledge to create healthy, delicious meals for clients with cancer, heart disease, diabetes, and other serious illnesses. I picked Bauman College because of its location in Santa Cruz, California where organic farming was reinvented. The Natural Chef Program at Bauman was the perfect link to round out my education. I learned cooking skills and techniques, as well as how to make any recipe more therapeutic by adding extra healing ingredients. I graduated from the program in March 2005 and began working as a Personal Therapeutic Chef, Nutritional Consultant, and Cooking Instructor for clients with various health needs in the San Francisco Bay Area. Promoting wellness by cooking for people and educating them about proper nutrition has been extremely rewarding. I am grateful to Bauman College for providing me with the education necessary to effectively use food as medicine. In the News...
