Rethink Your Drink
educational series in Santa Rosa Classrooms   March 1st-March 5th, 2010

In partnership with the Network for a Healthy California and the Santa Rosa City School District, Bauman College will lead a team of Nutrition Educators into Elsie Allen High School classrooms to give nutrition presentations on Rethink Your Drink. Favorite props include a 6 lb bag of fat (affectionately termed the "soda fat baby"). We look forward to educating our youth on the detriments of unhealthy sugar consumption.

“Bauman College changed my life by allowing me to confidently proceed forward with my business, grow it more fully, and validate the need for people who do what we do.
"

I attended the Nutrition Education program at Bauman as a Distance Learning student and graduated in November of 2008. I am self-employed in a business that I started back in 2006; my practice focuses on getting people to eat more whole food - whole grains in particular. I decided to enroll at Bauman because I felt that the program would take my understanding of nutrition to the next level, and that the certification credentials would help solidify my position as an educator. I got more than I anticipated from this program. Not only was my thinking and self-study validated, I was presented with a broader range of material than I would have covered on my own. Additionally, I learned research skills, gained the confidence to write and publish, learned to give larger, more in-depth presentations, and to become, I believe, a more effective educator. As I learned, I was able to put my knowledge to immediate use for myself, my family and those around me.

Bauman College changed my life by allowing me to confidently proceed forward with my business, grow it more fully, and validate the need for people who do what we do. Many people have shared with me that their doctors told them they needed to "eat healthier", but gave them no foundation and no support for that. With the information and handouts that they get from my lectures or sessions, they feel like they really understand what we just talked about. I find it exciting when a client works with me to continue on their journey toward health.
