“Bauman College has given me the tools to teach others how to value and care for the most important asset they will ever own.
"

My first formal nutrition class was Nutrition 101 at the local junior college. While I learned a great deal in the junior college class, I knew there was more that I was missing and that missing link was nutrition looked at from a holistic approach. This led me to my formal education at Bauman College. I finally found what I had been looking for. I found answers to 40+ years of struggles with weight, Attention Deficit Disorder and the slight OCD I had suffered so many years. I discovered the relationship between a healthy mind and body and how holistic nutrition contributes to both.

Although I live in the vicinity of Bauman College, I chose to take my education through Distance Learning. As a Distance Learning student with a hands-on mentor, I was able to successfully work throughout my studies, as well as take my studies with me on a month-long vacation.

After years of struggling with excessive weight, and finally maintaining a loss of 85 pounds for over nine years, I understand the difficulties of adherence to a "diet". As a Bauman College student, I was able to learn the true science of nutrition and its effect on the biochemistry of the human frame which is paramount to long term health and vitality. Weight loss has been the center of my studies and has now become a major factor of my business for the whole family. While I practiced a whole foods lifestyle for my own weight loss, Bauman College gave me the tools to research and apply a heightened awareness and practice of nutrition that took me to the next level of health and wellness. Bauman College has given me the tools to teach others how to value and care for the most important asset they will ever own.

As a certified Nutrition Educator, I educate and assist my clients in transitioning to a healthier lifestyle through whole foods while optimizing health and vitality. I provide nutritional support, grocery shopping tours, pantry renovations, group lectures and research utilizing valid and viable resources. As a weight loss specialist, I have clients of varying needs who benefit from my transitional program. I am also a nutrition educator and garden instructor at the Helen Lehman Elementary School in Santa Rosa, CA educating K-5 in nutrition and introduction of organic gardening.

It is my belief that we all deserve wellness and those of us who can must contribute to our communities. Therefore I also offer four scholarships per year for six-week transitional programs. Candidates are selected based on immediate health needs and economic struggle.
