Of course we all know the answer to that and he makes great points.  I wish he'd also explored the long term health costs of eating junk food to an individual and our health provider system.

Well, good luck with finding long term funding for that study...maybe McDonalds?

I have a researcher friend at UCB that gave me a study that found the cost ratio of preventative healthy measures for specific disorders far out weighed the costs associated with treating those same disorders "post facto". The ratios were anywhere between 7/1 and 18/1 (if my memory serves me well). That means for every dollar that someone spends on preventative measures (education, treatments, supplements, etc...) they would save from $7-18. Thats huge! but apparently the health care system is broke, because they sure aren't PAYING attention to studies like this...

LMK if you would like a copy of the study....

Blujay, I would love to have a copy of that study. Great info for my clients/friends who insist that they cannot afford to eat well!

Glad to share...now once you convince your clients logically and practically that they can afford to eat well, then comes their real work of dealing with the social and emotional blockage from eating healthy, just be ready for that....
