Can anyone please give me the most scientific studies on the affects of Agave on the body? I am hearing so many different things about this sugar and I just want to know if it is healthy or not. Thanks!

I was having a problem with the same thing... too many opinions so I decided to test agave on myself and see what happened.

I took my liver enzymes (ALT, AST, ALK PHOS etc) and they were all in perfect range. I don't drink any alcohol or eat/ingest much that would cause my liver to need to detoxify. So I added agave to my diet for 6 months. Not a ton maybe a tablespoon or two a day on salads and such. I had my blood tested again and my liver was so off the charts I looked like a alcoholic.

Now this could be complete coincidence but I have had a lot of blood panels over the years and my liver was always fine...

Just a thought. Agave is mostly fructose, read about Mercola's study's he has some great info that I agree with.
