Hello folks,

I have a friend who has an almost 7 month old baby. After having exclusively breast fed him for 6 months, he is now on solids once a day.
Recently she had to stop feeding him for 2 weeks and now that she wants to resume she has found out that her supply is almost gone!

She is pumping every 3 hrs to bring it up and also eating fenugreek and is on a E4H diet pretty much. She wanted to know about herbs, teas etc. that she can take to bring her supply up..Any advice? She is quite upset and desperate to bring it up. Among other things, I have asked her not to stress since that by itself can cause the supply to dwindle. Look fwd. to some info. that I can pass on to her..

Thank you.

Put the baby to the breast lots. Mama should drink teas like Mothers Milk Tea or Nursing Mothers tea. Galactagogues are agents that increase milk production like red clover, fenugreek, hops, goat's rue, fennel. Mother Love and Gaia both make lactation formulas containing some of those herbs. Drink lots of water, green leafies...
