Alternatives to organic milk for a 12 month old

My daughter just turned 12 moths old and I am switching from formula to milk. She was on formula because she was a preemie and although she breast fed for about 6 months she started with a bottle and breast feeding was too much of a challenge for her. I pumped as often as I could but eventually the breast milk dwindled. My question is, are there any quality alternatives to milk to transition to. Such as enriched Rice Dream or coconut milk. I had a problem with milk as a toddler and I just wanted to explore her options. Anyone have any experience or knowledge about this? Thanks so much!

You might consider raw goats milk or raw cows milk (certified of course). The reason you had difficulty with milk may have been because the enzymes in it were dead (pasteurized) including lactase. Go to

for more information.

I suggest waiting to introduce highly allergic foods until 3 years of age (when the gut is fully developed), especially when food allergies run in the family. Raw milk may be an alternative, but be careful for any signs of an allergy/sensitivity (constipation, diarrhea, ear infections, runny nose, bags under the eyes, etc).
