Hello all,

I am graduating NC in June and now toying with the idea of specializing in nutrition for fertility. I will of course want to learn a lot more on this topic before really diving in. Does anyone out there have any great references or reading recommendations for me on this topic? Also, I'll be moving to Vancouver, BC right after finishing the program. It's a shot in the dark, but does anyone have any contacts in the nutrition community up there?

Thanks,
Cristin

Heidi Snyder lives in Port Townsend, WA on a house boat, last heard.  That is close by.  It would be good to check with NANP, assuming you are a current member, to learn what legislation may affect your rights to practice.

Katie Singer's book THE GARDEN OF FERTILITY is a good read.

Hi Cristin,
I am also an NC and my practice focuses on fertility & pregnancy....here are a few resources to get you started!

http://nourishingourchildren.org/Motherhood.html - great info & resources!

Fellow Bauman grad Julie Matthews offers a wonderful online course: Nutrition for your Healthy Pregnancy & Baby http://nutritionforpregnancy.com/

Books:
Real Food for Mother & Baby, Nina Planck...love her!
Fertility, Cycles & Nutrition, Marilyn Shannon (I don't agree with everything in this book but there is some good info)

While I don't know any nutritionists in the Vancouver area, I do know a woman who does Yoga for Fertility....she may be a good contact for you?

I hope this helps! If you have any questions please feel free to contact me Smiley

I'd highly recommend Chris Kresser's work in The Healthy Baby Code (http://bit.ly/oRCY5A)  and on his blog (http://chriskresser.com/naturalchildbirth).
