Hello,

I have a good friend who feels she is going crazy and believes her hormones are the instigator.  She just had a baby in July and claims she noticed symptoms of imbalance once she became pregnant.  She had VERY bad morning sickness (or rather, all-day sickness) in her first 2 trimesters and since giving birth has been experiencing huge mood swings, low energy, etc.

Can anyone suggest any herbs that I could recommend to her?

Many thanks in advance for any thoughts.

Blessings, Andrea

As a Placenta Encapsulationist I wanted to chime in here that the mother's own placenta contains viable nutrients and her exact hormones so is a wonderful and ideal nutritional supplement after her baby has been born!
You can learn more by going to http://www.placentabenefits.info/index.asp?PARTNER=TaraCarpenter.
Hope that link works! I am still new at this stuff Smiley

Maca is an ideal booster food that is known for it's balancing, remineralizing and energizing benefits. It would be a suitable daily additional to give to women after pregnancy to get their hormonal system back on track. Maca will boost energy levels and level out mood swings. The calcium and magnesium are helpful for breastfeeding.

Depending on how sensitive their digestion is, you could use raw or (starch free, more easily digested) gelatinized maca. The powder blends in well with any type of milk based smoothies, and you only need to start with 1/2-1 tsp a day.
