So I know this is more of an environmental issue as a opposed to a nutrition-related one, but I thought I would share this with all of you nonetheless. After  e-mailing the editor half a dozen times, Rolling Stone magazine finally published my letter about how livestock production causes more greenhouse gas emissions than transport and that eating fewer animal products is the simplest way to stop global warming. I e-mailed the magazine most recently after their 40th anniversary issue came out that included interviews with AL Gore and many scientists and not one "expert" mentioned food.

Of course they completely edited it down to size and re-wrote the last sentence, but it was good to see my letter printed in my favourite magazine and hopefully it will make some people think differently about the food they commonly consume.

In addition, when the editor e-mailed me about where my facts came from I took the opportunity to suggest that they write an entire article about the many health and environmental benefits of plant-based eating and interview some of the many musicians who choose vegetarianism as way of life. The editor said that it was a great idea.

Hi Adrienne -

That's really cool! It must have been really exciting to see your letter in print.  Smiley

Also, that was a great idea you gave them for a future story.
