I had purchased a GNC brand of Maximum Greens Super Green Formula. After completing the Macronutrients section of my studies, I took time to read the label and the first ingredient listed is Fructose. Doesn't this negate the health food qualities of this product?? What do I look for when purchasing health food products?

GNC is a trying to appeal to the "American" palate by making the greens sweet. The fructose isn't neccessarily going to diminish the other nutritional benefit but it doesn't enhance it either! Next time you buy a green powder look at the following brands - they are concetrated with greens contain enzymes and other nutrients and do not contain sugar.

Barlean's Greens, Perfect Food, Pro Greens, Green Vibrance, Miracle Greens, Health Force Greener Grasses - these are all found at a health food store or at a vitamin store (probably not at GNC since they sell their own brands).

In addition to all the great products previously mentioned, I'd like to add two:

Super Green Food Blend by Blender Culture. Available in some northern CA natural foods grocery stores or at blenderculture.com  I like this product especially because it is mild tasting and has no sweeteners whatsoever. I find that people tend to like greens drinks better when they can put them in tomato-based juices, as well as into smoothies and other sweet drinks. This is also an almost entirely organic product and is VERY reasonably priced. It's a one-person, one-product company.

I also really like Ed Bauman's Vital Scoop. It's got high quality whey protein, flax seeds and greens. It's mild and tastes good even in water. I haven't had a single client who doesn't like it.

Thank you both. And i registered last night in order to purchase the Vital Scoop. I live in the back woods of New York and health food stores are few and far between. ordering online is going to be my best option.
Thanks again!
