Does anyone have any suggestions for what to use to help cure chapped lips?
I am experiencing some sort of reaction to chapsticks after I use them for a while.

I have this problem too.  I use Bag Balm and it seems to work better than regular chapstick for me.  I hope it helps.

I like pure lanolin.  works great lasts a long time. very healing for cracked skin.  I use Lansinoh (sp?) which is actually for breast feeding mothers.   You can find it in the nursing section of a baby store, drug store, Target, etc.

Coconut oil is wonderful for dry lips!  If you're looking for something more portable, look for a lip balm that isn't petroleum based.  Beeswax based is good.

I usually hate using anything on my lips, as I notice that many times you become "addicted" to them, feeling like you need to use them all of the time.  But then I got a stick of a Weleda lip balm in a package of stuff and I really like it!  It is made of all natural ingredients and doesn't make me addicted.

I just learned something new and thought I would share....

Cracked lips?
It could mean: You have a yeast infection
Dry, cracked lips may be your body crying out for lip balm—or a sign of a yeast infection. “We all carry yeast on our skin,” says Shawn Allen, MD, a Boulder, Colorado, dermatologist, but cracks around the edges of your mouth may mean your body has too much.

I had crazily chapped, peeling lips and I finally went to see my doctor about it. First time I'd been to my MD in 5 years! She looked at my lips and said "that looks like a nut allergy!" So, I guess that proves you can find doctors who think about food inputs.

Happy ending: found out that if I mostly avoid nuts, my lips don't peel.

I would add my plug for the "Everon" Weleda lip balm. It is really special.

Good luck!

You can try putting warm ghee on your lips and navel.  Not sure why but it worked really well for my daughter.

I have found if I am dry on the outside I am within, I believe if we treat this internally with moisture, most symptoms go away!  Up your fish oil to 6 capsules a day and take an amino acid supplement!  If it is happening on the outside it is happening on the inside!!!
