I gotta tell you that perhaps for some of us...there is no option and no bubble to add your own picture. I am very computer literate and quite knowledgeable about using forums and adding an avatar and or siggy. I am using mozilla as a browser and there just is not a place to add your own pic from my screen anywhere.

Hi Lisa,

I'm sorry for the delay in responding. The inability to set a custom avatar picture is actually an explicit security setting on the forum here. It prevents potential spam and/or hacking problems from general registrants. We have had a number of spammers and "spambots" register here in the past, and in one instance we had a rather nasty porn-related poster (whom we fortunately caught fairly quickly). So we take a bit of extra precaution because of that. I apologize for the earlier misinformation but Marlina was unaware of this security measure.

If and when you become a student you will of course be able to add your own avatar.

Greetings,

I just started the Natural Chef program and I'm having an issue with my profile set up. I can't get my avatar up and running. Is there an image size limitation that perhaps I'm going over? There aren't detailed instructions on this and when I choose my photo, fill out the information and click "change profile" it just goes to a completely blank page saying "done" at the bottom. Not sure what I'm doing wrong here.

Thanks,

Hi Angie,

Avatars can be a maximum of 100x100 pixels and should be no larger than 15kb in file size. The forum should be able to automatically resize images, but if the source image is particularly large it may have problems. Try resizing your image before uploading.

Hi Marlina,

CJ Hurtig here.  I just joined your forum, and I do not consider myself technology challenged.  There is no radio button on my screen that allows me to upload a picture. There is only one radio button and the options are no pic, or veggies.

Can you help?

CJ

Hi CJ,

Welcome on board!  The reason that you didn't see that option, is that you were registered as a "member". I have now changed your status to "alumni" and you will find access to the tools to post your picture.

Hope you are doing well and welcome to the forums!

Marlina - I am new to the college and just getting myself started.  I think I have myself set up in the picture yourself.  I don't know if it is saved or not.  My e-mail is HollyZastrow @HotMail.com

Let me know.

If you mean to share the post with them, you can cut and paste the URL and send to them.  If they are not a student or alumni, they will not have access to posts in the Student Community, however.

I have still been unsuccessful in getting a picture uploaded.  There is no opportunity to put one in the profile that I can see.  I guess I don't mind being an eggplant anyways..

Hi Eggplant!  Unfortunately for some reason the forum only allows picture avatars for students and alumni.  Once/if you become a student, you will find that tool.  Sorry for the inconvenience...but you do look marvelous in purple!
