I'm at the point of the Nutrition Counseling and I have decided to choose my mother, who has diverticulitis, to be my client.  I've been looking around for some recipes that would help heal the diverticula.  The pouches that have been created in the intestines by constipation.  If anyone has some ideas of certain foods that are especially healing or possibly a book or website that would have some great suggestions I would love it.  Any suggestions would be appreciated!

Thank You!

Hi,

I am currently in the NE program and my 'weight management' client has diverticulitis, so I had to take that into consideration when building her menu plans.  I did some digging and found a very good site for info on diverticulitis and what a person with the disease should and should not eat.  I also suspect that eating more alkaline pH foods would help too.

Here is a link to the site:

Thanks, Anna L. That website is very helpful to me as I am also working with a client that had 4' of her colon removed.
