Hi everyone,
I am a graduate of the Fall2008 Natural chef program @ santa cruz. As its time for filing my tax returns for 2008,I have a question.

IS it possible to take  Bauman college tuition and fee expenses as a deduction on my 1040 form ??
Normally some colleges send you a 1098 form for educational expenses and I am not sure if bauman does the same. I am sure some of you must have pondered over this question and have some answers. Please help !!

thanks,
Sumana

Since we are not a title 4 school, you can not deduct your educational expenses.

However, if you have your own business, you may be able to write the education off.  But you would need to talk to a tax adviser.

Does this also mean that Bauman College tuition would not be applicable for the 2009-2010 stimulus package Hope Scholarship Tax Credit, which credit $2,500 per year of college?  I read about this here:

Are there any plans for Bauman to become a title 4 school?

Thanks,

Hello,

It is likely that BC tuition will not be eligible for the increased tax credit.

Bauman College is not a title 4 school, as we do not have a federal school code.
