Wow, bummer. In Montana we had Indian tacos, basically a regualr taco on on homemade fry bread instead of a tortilla. Lemonade made with real lemons and oranges, Foot long hot dogs and corn dogs, cotton candy, Swedish meatballs on a stick, fresh picked corn on the cob, Indian fry bread with fresh crushed local raspberries.
Not too bad really. Most of the food booths were local organizations doing fund raising by having a booth at the fair.
When I was in Plains, MT they had wild huckelberry pizza!!! A giant pizza sized shortbread cookie spread with cream cheese and fresh picked wild huckelberries! I would eat that again! Somethings I just refuse to part with a piece of Montana Huckelberry Pizza is one of them!

PS
I'm jealous that you got to go to a livestock show and rodeo! I used to love that!

Dixie,
That huckleberry pizza does sound amazing!
The livestock show and rodeo part was a lot of fun. It was great seeing all the FFA & 4H kids with their animals and to get up close with them, including a Texas Longhorn - man those things are amazing. Lots of great information available about agriculture available, as a matter of fact at one booth they were giving out handouts/brochures about organic foods available in TX and local farm regions and local wineries, etc. It was great and I am so glad to see that kind of information being disseminated to such a large audience. Now to get them to "get" it.

No. They had horses, cows, goats, and sheep.
And then displays and such for chickens, turkeys, rabbits, pigs. The llamas, alpacas, etc aren't going to be for a few more days. I was kind of bummed about that as I love seeing all of the fiber animals.
