Dr. Forrester (
www.clinicalcatalyst.com) will present an overview of diabetes, coronary artery disease, hypertension, obesity and dementia. He will discuss the scientific, evidence-based case regarding the consequences of what we eat, and how behavioral changes based on primary and secondary prevention can lead to dramatic improvements in an individual’s health and wellness, and dramatic decreases in healthcare costs. The goal is to prevent, stabilize, and reverse disease, minimize the use of drugs and procedures, and improve an individual’s quality of life.
Dr. Forrester received his BS with High Honors in Chemical Engineering in 1970 and worked for National Institutes of Health (NIH). After graduating from Georgetown University School of Medicine in 1975, Dr. Forrester was a Family Practice Resident at UC Davis for three years. He then worked as physician with the Kaiser Permanente Medical Care Program in Sacramento, California, for 30 years until his retirement in 2008. During that time, in addition to his medical practice, he served as Chief of Patient Education, Chief of Preventive Medicine, Chief of Family Practice, Physician in Charge, and Consultant to the Permanente Company.
