vomiting non-stop for days..........

I have a friend who became ill last friday and has been vomiting everyday, all day since then. He has not been able to eat or drink anything for 6 days because he will immediately vomit. He has been in the hospital for days and they still have no idea what is wrong with him. They have ruled out ulcers, and are looking into the gallbladder. My instincts tell me there is something in him that needs to get out that cant or hasnt yet. Parasite maybe? I dont know much about them. Does anyone have any suggestions or heard of this before?!? I feel awful for him and am desperately looking for some clue as to what is wrong with him. Ill appreciate any suggestions.
