This is fast and delicious!
What you need:
-Blender
-paint cloth strainer (purchased at hardware store), or a fancy cheese cloth...
Description:
Making nut milk at home is essential. All nut milk purchased from grocery store that isn't labeled "unsweetened", has a copious amount of cane sugar added. If you make it at home, you can add your own sweetener such as stevia, honey, agave or dates.
It is completely optional to add a sweetener to your nut milk!
Recipe~ Almond/sesame seed/ginger/lavender milk
2 cups soaked almonds
1 cup soaked sesame seed
1 T size chunk of fresh ginger root
1 T fresh lavender
1/2 t vanilla powder (you can add liquid pure vanilla) powder is alcohol free*
1T Raw Agave
Add all ingredients to blender and fill with purified water, one inch from full. Put lid on and blend away!
Place cloth strainer in a container (jar or pitcher), fold cloth over opening and begin to pour milk slowly. The cloth strainer will fill up with small bits of ingredients, so you will need to empty it.
NOTE: squeeze the cloth strainer, so that you are getting all the milk into container before you empty it. Empty the strainer in a bowl, set aside.
Continue pouring milk through strainer, until all the liquid is in container.
NOTE: In the bowl set aside with the nut bits, you can save and use this nut "flour" in cookies, muffins or breads on the dehydrator.
