Niacin Flush from Nutritional Yeast?
« on: November 11, 2008, 11:36:17 AM »
I love nutritional yeast and have been eating it consistently for the past eight months.  About one month ago I got a niacin flush for the first time after I ate it.  Although it's still only occasional at this point, this reaction has been increasing in frequency.  It happened on a crowded bus on the way to work today!

I'm wondering why I would get a niacin flush for the first time after months of eating nutrtional yeast.  I've read that a niacin flush is more common when there are more toxins in the body, however I think the opposite is true in my case.  My diet has been good for years but it's improved even more with my enrollment in the Nutrition Educator program.

Can anyone offer any insights as to why this might be happening now?  Thanks!
