![]() Geoffrey Marx, Nutrition Consultant Staff Nutrition Consultant, Health Medicine Center Walnut Creek, CA www.doctorsaputo.com/a/health-medicine-forum “The NC program at Bauman College provides students with a broad spectrum of knowledge in the science and art of whole foods nutrition. The quality of instruction and progressive academic culture make it a place where the learning experience is deepened.” Since graduating from the Nutrition Consultant program in Berkeley, I started a private practice in the East Bay Area where I saw clients with a wide variety of health challenges. Over time, I cultivated a relationship with local doctors, chiropractors and acupuncturists as part of a network of practitioners who use integrative modalities and with whom I could both send and receive clients. In 2006 I moved my practice to the Health Medicine Center in Walnut Creek, Ca., where I am currently the staff nutrition consultant. I have the privilege of working with Len Saputo, MD and other outstanding practitioners to help people with cancer, diabetes, heart disease, digestive disorders, chronic pain and other illnesses. I am honored to spend time with people who seek greater wellness understanding. I am interested in cultivating meaningful dialogue in this pursuit. The paradigm has not shifted and the healthcare industry is especially over-populated with arrogance, ignorance, pointless competition, mind-numbing misinformation and greed. I stand in favor of slowing down, listening and caring. I believe we must shift our cultural values from a competitive model to one of cooperation. I understand that we are all students in this life and that, as fragile beings, we must treat each other with a greater respect. If we practice what we preach each day and strive for this authenticity, we will find the inner peace and strength to heal ourselves, our loved ones and our community. This coherence is a discipline. When practiced with consistence, “being the change you wish to see”, it shall bring a new era of hope to our culture of distress and disease. I am grateful for the many great pioneers in the field of nutrition, wherein I believe Dr. Bauman holds a prominent place. My plan for the future is to continue bringing nutrition and preventive health education to local communities, institutions and beyond. |
