Institutions must be re-licensed every 3 years and are subject to continuing review. Update: On 6/31/07, the Bureau of Private Post-secondary and Vocational Education’s current charter expired. The Bureau has been allowed to “sunset” as the California legislation works to renew, update and improve the BPPVE operating structure. As provided in Assembly Bill 1525 and extended in Senate Bill 45, Bauman College has entered into a voluntary agreement with the Director of the Department of Consumer Affairs- the Bureau's oversight body. By signing this agreement we agree to comply with all statutes, rules, and regulations that were in effect until the Bureau closed. Currently this agreement runs until July 1, 2008. The Bureau’s closure in no way affects the validity of the certifications granted by Bauman College. Updates will be provided here as the legislative process moves towards the renewal of the Bureau. Update 2/15/08: A representative from Bauman College attended a recent webinar hosted by the Department of Consumer Affairs. It was the intention of the webinar to remind and inform both school administrators and students about the Voluntary Agreement which was signed last year, whereby schools pledge to remain in compliance with all statues and regulations that were in effect before the BPPVE closed. In addition, the following resource brochures were distributed. Bauman College is pleased to make these available to our prospective students :Which Career is Right? Which School is Right? How Do I Know What I'll Get For My Money? How Do I Know What To Do Next? Student Bill of Rights To the best of our knowledge, the Bureau should be re-emerging in 2008 after legislative negotiation. Update 7/1/08: SB 823 is active in the legislative process. To keep abreast of the latest progress on this bill, click Here. Although SB 45 has expired on July 1, Bauman College commits to our students that we will comply with all statutes, rules, and regulations as laid down by the former BPPVE at the time that it was active.
