Eating For Health: A New System, Not Another Diet

Class Description
Meet the founder and Director of Bauman College and learn which foods can promote strength, clarity, and vitality while providing daily detoxification. This lecture/demonstration will introduce the principles and applications of the Bauman College Eating for Health system. Instructor Biography
Dr. Edward Bauman has a Masters in Education from the University of Massachusetts and a Ph.D. in Health promotion from the University of New Mexico, with original research on Breast Cancer Prevention. He has been a nutrition educator, practitioner, and Director of the Berkeley Holistic Health Center and Heartwood College Wellness Clinic.

Dr. Bauman was co-editor of the Holistic Health Handbook and Holistic Health Lifebook, and author of Confronting Cancer in Our Community, Recipes and Remedies for Rejuvenation Cookbook, and the Eating For Health Reader. He is the Executive Director of Bauman College and is involved in administration, teacher training, and curriculum development.

Dr. Bauman is also Director of Bauman Nutrition, a clinical group offering personalized whole foods consulting and holistic services.

Delicious Fishes! Lecture and Cooking Demonstration

Buying seafood these days has put consumers in a quandary. With wild fish stocks disappearing and fish farms taking a toll on the oceans, conscious consumers want to know: Which is better for health and the environment, wild or farmed?

Join natural foods chef Alison Anton in a discussion about sustainable fishing practices, contaminant exposure to both wild and farmed fish, and the new trend of organic farmed fish. We will also look at the many health benefits of eating fish, and finding a happy medium for enjoying seafood while becoming a conscious seafood consumer.

Instructor Biography

Lisa Turner is a nutritional chef, food coach, health writer, and researcher, as well as a yoga and meditation instructor. She has written hundreds of articles for dozens of health magazines; her work has appeared in Self Magazine, The Utne Reader, Vegetarian Times, Natural Health, Yoga Journal, New Age Journal and many others. Lisa has also written five books on health and nutrition.

Lisa has appeared on nationally televised cooking shows, taught cooking classes for culinary institutes, and lectured on food and nutrition across the country. She has also consulted with natural food companies: creating recipes and advising on product development. Her company, Inspired Eating, offers food coaching, nutrition consulting, and meal planning for individuals and corporations.

Instructor Biography
Jennifer Baccellieri is the director of The Art of Living Wellness Center, and a board certified holistic health counselor, herbalist, columnist, and lecturer. She studied ancient healing traditions and nutrition in the Southwest, India, Central and South America. She holds a B.A. in Holistic Health from Long Island University, Friends World Program, and has further developed her healing skills at the Institute for Integrative Nutrition and the Southwest School of Botanical Medicine.

Jennifer is a member of The American Association of Drugless Practitioners. She works with clients nationwide to address the root causes of their health concerns through whole foods, herbs, and lifestyle counseling.

Dr. Charley Cropley has been a practicing Naturopathic Physician, teacher and author in the Boulder/Denver area for the last 25 years. He has trained hundreds of doctors in his methods of nutrition and Self-Healing, taught at medical colleges and universities, and led many courses and retreats in nutrition and self-healing. He is author of numerous articles, several books and an array of audio and videos. He has been a frequent lecturer at colleges of Naturopathic Medicine, and is widely regarded as one of today's leading thinkers and teachers in the philosophy and practice of Self-healing.

Charley no longer uses any medicines. He trains people to master their illnesses by mastering themselves. Instructor Biography

Brigitte Mars is an herbalist and nutritional consultant with over thirty six years experience. She is the author of Beauty by Nature, Rawsome!, Sex, Love and Health, Addiction Free Naturally, Healing Herbal Teas, The Desktop Guide to Herbal Medicine, and co-author of The Hemp Nut Health and Cookbook. Brigitte has had a radio show on KGNU called Naturally for over twenty years. She is a professional member of The American Herbalist Guild.

Brigitte teaches at Naropa University, Boulder College of Massage, Esalen Institute, and Kripalu. She has also taught at The Mayo Clinic, University of Colorado, and many Natural Products Expos. Brigitte has private practice and works as a practitioner for Pharmaca. She is the mother of Sunflower Sparkle Mars, with whom she leads Herb Camp for Kids, as well as Sunflower’s sister, Rainbeau Harmony Mars.
