Days Are Getting Shorter...Is it really almost daylight saving time already? Get prepared for the season of indulgence... It is that time of the year when the first season's colds can catch us off guard. Be mindful of those Halloween treats that may weaken immune systems, young and old alike, and leave us susceptible to illness. October begins the season of indulgence: Halloween treats abound and overwhelm, Thanksgiving, though it feeds our body and soul, can have a belly-way-too-full aspect, and the winter holidays have their own special treats and traditions, not to mention the excessiveness of some New Year's celebrations. Whoa....what's happening to my summer sport-shaped body? Not to despair; if we go into these next months with education, intention, and awareness, we can enjoy comfort foods and treats and still manage our immune systems and health. Be well as you embark upon the cooler season....

We would like to extend a big THANK YOU to the Distance Learning students who attended our most recent on-site workshop. The students were impressed with a delicious and beautifully presented Autumn style lunch (Polenta Stuffed Pumpkins) prepared by our current Penngrove Natural Chef students, followed by a comprehensive lecture on nutrition research and job development by our own Dr. Ed. The event took place just prior to the NANP annual conference, so the students were primed for a full weekend of camaraderie and exciting nutrition presentations.
