Turns out that sleep is kind of like our mental digestive system. According to scientists at the University of Rochester, we clean out brain waste products when we sleep by way of this channel that goes to our liver.  So, whether you’ve had a really productive day or got totally stressed out, science says you really can sleep it off and wake up renewed.
